Dubai to Get Vegas-Style Island with MGM, Bellagio, and Aria Hotels
Dubai is set to welcome a unique island soon, immersed in the atmosphere of Las Vegas and adorned with the hotels MGM, Bellagio, and Aria. The contract for building the island with 1,400 hotel rooms marks the largest in Dubai since 2017.
The mega-project Wasl, situated off the coast of Jumeirah, will host three iconic Las Vegas hotels, becoming the central elements of this Vegas-inspired venture.
Wasl has tasked the China State Construction Engineering Corporation with constructing the island, with the deal estimated at $1.2 billion USD (4.4 billion dirhams). This deal is being hailed as the most significant in Dubai's construction sector since 2017.
Bill Hornbuckle, President and CEO of MGM, confirmed that the luxury complex is already in the construction phase. He also added that the island will feature 1,400 hotel rooms under the brands MGM Grand, Bellagio, and Aria.
For those unfamiliar, these three brands, part of the MGM family, are among the most renowned names in the hotel scene in Las Vegas.
