Gasoline and diesel prices in the UAE will change in April, in connection with the beginning of Ramadan
Petrol and diesel prices in the UAE will change in April due to the start of Ramadan.
This is because the fuel price committee has set new rates, and fuel will be cheaper from April 1.
- Super 98 petrol will cost AED 3.01 per liter, down from AED 3.09
- Special 95 petrol will cost AED 2.90 per liter, down from AED 2.97
- E-Plus 91 petrol will cost AED 2.82 per liter, down from AED 2.90
- Diesel will be charged at AED 3.03 per liter, down from AED 3.14
The price of oil steadily fell in March, with Brent futures dropping to $75.32 per barrel (from $84.31 in February) and US West Texas Intermediate crude settling at $69.33 (down from $77.05).
The nearly $10 drop amounts to almost AED 37 per barrel.
The drop in prices follows changes in March that saw a small increase in the price of petrol and a small drop in the price of diesel.
In 2022, UAE petrol prices went above AED 4 for the first time in June.
And they reached an all-time high in July, with Super 98 costing AED 4.63 per liter.
Prices then fell for three consecutive months in August, September, and October.
Then a November hike was followed by a further reduction in December.
Fuel prices in the country were liberalized in 2015, with local rates being aligned with global oil prices.
For the past seven years, the fuel price committee has met on a monthly basis to announce revised rates.
