In Dubai, a private helicopter airport for VIPs will be built
In Dubai, they are currently building a helicopter pad for VIP passengers. It will be a private airfield where wealthy residents and visitors of the city can leave their own helicopters. The helicopter park area will be 42,800 square meters, which will accommodate up to 12 helicopters, as well as an exhibition hall to showcase new models.
The leading company responsible for implementing the project is the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Centre (MBRAC), which is partnering with Air Chateau International, who have all the necessary flight certificates.
The helicopter terminal will serve both leisure and business travelers, with a VIP lounge for arriving passengers in the hangar for the helicopters. Additionally, Air Chateau International will provide helicopter maintenance services.
Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, construction of the Midfield, a huge terminal at the international airport, is almost complete. It will serve up to 11,000 passengers per hour or 45 million passengers per year, after the closure of Terminals 1 and 2.
The cost of the terminal is approximately 11 billion dirhams, which is equivalent to approximately 3 billion US dollars, and its area is 700,000 square meters. It is planned to serve 17,000 employees. The Midfield will become the first international airport with full biometric services, making it the most technologically advanced airport in the world.
